Brisbane Dental Bridges CEREC

Do you wish to replace damaged or missing teeth and restore your smile?

At River City Dental, we offer comprehensive solutions to replace damaged and missing teeth. Throughout our consultation process, we may find that a dental bridge is the right solution for you. Our safe and long-lasting CEREC dental bridges can replace your missing teeth and restore your smile.

How do dental bridges work?

A dental bridge is a custom-made restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth. The bridge attaches to the existing, real teeth on either side of the gap where your missing teeth are. Essentially, the dental bridge acts as a replacement tooth or teeth – bridging the gap.
To have a dental bridge constructed, your dentist will need to undertake certain processes to construct the bridge and prepare your mouth. In most cases, your dentist will take impressions to design the custom bridge, after preparing the adjacent supporting teeth to allow for the bridge to be fitted.
At River City Dental, we use CEREC technology to have dental bridges designed, constructed and permanently attached and may be completed in just one dental appointment. The CEREC process involves having a digital 3D scan completed of your mouth so the bridge restoration can be custom-made instantly.
The benefits of a dental bridge include:

  • Restoring the aesthetics of your smile
  • Restoring function that was lost from the missing tooth/teeth
  • Reducing likelihood of jaw and teeth movement

Who is a suitable candidate for a dental bridge?

Dental bridges are usually suited to people who have one or more missing teeth. In most circumstances, you may need to have an existing healthy tooth on either side of the gap, as this is where the bridge will attach on either end. Your dentist is the only person who can determine whether you are a suitable candidate for a dental bridge, so it is best to discuss the benefits and limitations at your next dental appointment.

What are the benefits of CEREC technology?

Modern CEREC bridges have a range of benefits when compared to traditional dental methods:

  • Process may be completed in just one visit to your Brisbane dentist
  • Bridge restoration is custom-made onsite using advanced computer technology (Primescan) and mill (Primemill)
  • Cost-effective solution for restoring your smile
  • No messy impressions
  • Convenient, fast and safe procedure
Is it important to have missing teeth replaced?

Yes! It’s important to replace missing teeth as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your mouth. If you do not replace missing teeth, your bite may change and there could be further misalignment to your smile.

What is the process involved with dental bridges?

Firstly, you may need to have an initial consultation with your dentist so they can determine whether you are a suitable candidate for a dental bridge. Once this has been confirmed, and your dentist has discussed any limitations of the dental bridge procedure with you, an appointment to prepare the adjacent teeth and fabricate the bridge will be required.

How long do dental bridges last?

Dental bridges can last anywhere between five and fifteen years, depending on the specific materials used and how well they are maintained. It’s important that you take care of your dental bridge with good oral hygiene and regular visits to your dentist.

Are dental bridges safe?

When constructed and attached by an experienced dental professional, dental bridges are safe. The materials used in your dental bridge are long-lasting and safe in the mouth.
